The next Super Eagles head coach will be allowed to pick his assistants.

A number of coaches (local and expatriates) have already applied for the position.

According to Complete Sports, the coach, who gets the job will be handed the responsibility of picking his two assistants and possibly goalkeepers’ trainer.

The decision by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is to ensure that there are no rancour or philosophical differences between head coach and his assistants.

The NFF is expected to name a new head coach for the Super Eagles next month.

Finidi George, who was one of the assistants to former head coach, Jose Peseiro, is expected to lead the team for the friendlies against Ghana and Mali later this month.
